Au Pair in France
WHY BE AN AU PAIR?
Becoming an Au Pair can be an enriching experience, providing you with cultural and linguistic experience. It allows you to experience a total emersion in the country that you are visiting. Living with a family is one of the best ways to learn a language without having to spend a fortune.
As an Au Pair you will be in charge of looking after the children and taking care of some household duties. Accommodation and meals are provided free of charge and a weekly allowance 80€.

WHO CAN APPLY
In order to apply an Au Pair you must have the following:
• EU Nationality except French (legally you cannot be an Au Pair in your own country).
• Preferably basic Knowledge of French min GCSE French qualification grade A-C
• At least 2 different experiences with children - native English speakers may be accepted without
experience if they are happy to teach English to the children
• Be aged 18-27

-Both cheques should be made payable to Au Pairs by Pebbles and sent with the paperwork before we can begin processing your application.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What destinations are possible?
We specialise placing Au Pairs in the South of France but we can arrange short or long term placements all over Europe. .
How far will I be placed from the main town?
Applicants should be aware that not all of the families we offer placements with are centrally located. It is therefore advised that applicants are willing to drive unless otherwise stated in their application.
How will I be paid?
Au Pairs are paid in Cash at the end of the week.
How will I be interviewed?
We interview most candiadtes by telephone, but if you are in the Nice area we'd be delighted to welcome you in person.
When Can I be an Au Pair?
Au Pairs usually work for the summer months but can also work for longer periods in some cases up to a year.
How many Hours will I work per week?
You will work between 30-35 hours per week.
How much free time will I get?
You will get a minimum of 1 and a half days off per week. This will usually include a day off on Sunday to explore the sites and take part in any cultural activities.
What duties will I be expected to do?
The duties that are expected of you will involve various things from dressing, bathing, simple meals, babysitting and helping with homework. You may also be expected to undertake light housework duties including washing, cleaning and ironing.
Can I use the host Family’s phone?
The host family will usually allow you to use the telephone when you first arrive to inform your family that you have arrived safely. At any other time you must ask the family if you can use the phone.
If the family has internet it may be a good idea to download free software that allows you to speak to your family free of charge.
